FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I sign up for a Spoken Chinese Course?
Drop us a message via our Contact form or for a more immediate reply check out our live chat feature at the bottom right side of this page.
Bare in the mind the time difference as our offices are based in China. If you catch us too late, no bother, we’ll reply the next day as quickly as possible.
How can I improve my character knowledge then?
We believe once you get to a fairly strong speaking level you should really be learning the characters too.
Speak to one of our students advisors about this. We offer specialist one-on-one courses so you could perhaps set some of these up to get your Chinese characters to improve quickly.
How many students are in an LTL Taiwan group class?
Our small group classes in Taiwan average less than three students per class.
This is imperative because it gives every student the chance to speak Chinese and improve their pronunciation. Bigger groups means less chances to speak.
A class will never exceed six people but the average is under three.
Which study materials will we use?
Generally we have a tonne of books that we choose from.
However, for the Spoken Chinese program we use the “A a Course in Contemporary Chinese” (當代中文課程) series. Your text books are included in the course fee so there is no need to pay extra.
How long does it take to get proficient in speaking?
Clearly everyone is different and learning speeds may vary.
However, as a very broad guide it will take a beginner roughly 30 hours to learn the basics in Mandarin, 60 hours for basic conversations and approximately 200 hours for day to day conversations.
What payment methods do you accept?
Any of the following are accepted: WeChat, Alipay, cash or bank transfer.
